Whether small or large – in our village, we warmly welcome every furry friend! The Slow Travel Resort Kirchleitn is a vacation hotspot for many families with small children. Therefore, dogs that reach no higher than your calf are allowed to come on vacation with you.
We enable you to have a relaxing stay at the resort with your dog, because the surrounding region, with its breathtaking nature, offers a wide range of options for you to customize your vacation. Whether you and your four-legged friend prefer an adventurous, active or quiet vacation, we guarantee variety when traveling with your dog.

Winter vacation with dogs in Austria
Those who are not deterred by the winter cold and don’t just leave the house to go for a walk will not be disappointed by the range of activities they can do with their dog during their vacation.
Your four-legged friend can accompany you on a wide range of activities – for example, ice skating or snowshoeing.
SUMMER VACATION WITH DOG
Summertime is hiking and swimming time! Enjoy the wonderful landscape during your vacation with your dog! Dogs are allowed on all hiking trails in the area, but they must be kept on a leash.
If the route is a little too long for you or your companion, the mountain railways will take you closer to your destination, because four-legged friends are allowed in both the gondola and the lift! Various dog-friendly mountain huts offer you a place to rest and linger.
You and your four-legged friend are welcome at the Bad Kleinkirchheim golf course and at the Feld am See wildlife park! On particularly hot days, a variety of dog beaches in Carinthia offer you a chance to cool off.
At Kirchleitn, your dream vacation will also be unforgettable for your dog. Here, your dog will find plenty of space to run and play, while you enjoy the breathtaking natural surroundings.

Car-free
Our villages are free of all motor vehicle traffic.
Beach with dog
Carinthia offers several dog beaches. You will find three of them at Lake Weissensee, two at Lake Ossiach, and one each at Lake Afritz, Lake Millstatt and Lake Forst.
Veterinary
Veterinary Dr. Wulschnig is only about 500 meters away from our villages. This guarantees quick help if any problems arise!

A first-aid kit for pets is available for minor injuries and emergencies.

If you decide to spend your vacation with your dog, you only have to pay a surcharge of 15.00 euros per day and dog. (max. 2 dogs per apartment) Food is not included in this price.
It is not a tragedy if you forget an item when packing. Although we provide bowls and blankets at our resort, most dogs feel more comfortable in a strange environment with their usual items.
